The decor? Think exposed, hardwood floors, high ceilings, terrazzo stairwell, and chic sofas from Restoration Hardware wrapped in Italian Renaissance revival architecture all lit by our custom antique edison bulb floor lamps.

Each floor can adapt to match a variety of themes and social functions, from intimate lounge and dance floor, seated dinner space, or cozy day time baby shower. Each floor features multiple sets of soft seating and areas that can elevate perfect conversation space, photo booth, or glam red carpet. Host a DJ on the 2nd floor and a Jazz Quartet on the 3rd, with cocktails and desserts on the 4th to end the night. We’ve also taken care of all the functional details, with available sound system, bar areas, seating, tables, and rustic decor elements.
Beyond your birthday party or happy hour, The Loft is also a great venue to host your seated dinner, bridal and baby shower, bar and mat mitzvah, engagement party, or reunion. And plan to sneak downstairs into the basement speakeasy, Denson Liquor Bar, for the after party.
The building: this masterpiece at the corner of 6th and F street was designed and built in 1909 by Albert Goehner and served as the nation’s oldest continuously operated home savings and loan, until 2003. Renovated in 2012, today it is one of the only dedicated historic event and wedding venues in Washington, DC.
"This place is perfect for hosting intimate and casual happy hour events! Centrally located near the Gallery Place Metro, with tons of nearby parking, the space itself was gorgeous! Several of my guests were ready to move in! Andrew and Wyatt were incredibly helpful and flexible, and the entire event ran smoothly. I will definitely use it again for events I may host, and I know that several guests commented that "this was a perfect use of this space" and "I want to get married here!""
